Here's a self-directed learning story for you: Ceres - the mythical goddess, not this dwarf planet - was indirectly responsible for me spending a whole two years learning everything there was to learn about Greco-Roman mythology. She was known by another name during the months she spent mourning for her daughter in the Underworld, and that is the root of my real first name. I was totally fascinated and studied the mythologies incessantly for most of my upper elementary/ junior high years!

I still find it hard to remember to stop at Neptune as the last major planet! I wonder what the new mnemonic device is for remembering the names and order of the planets since they dropped Pluto - anyone know?
