Lapbook/Notebook mini-books: Hexagons

Mini-books (small folding "books") can be used in lapbooks or on notebook pages as a little extra bit to make them more interesting. Here are two sizes of mini-books in a hexagon shape. The 4-inch hexagons come two on a page while the 3-inch hexagons have three on a page.

Bird mini-books for notebooking or lapbooking

Did you know that you can use mini-books in notebooking as well as lapbooking? Of course! Just paste them on one of your notebook pages just as you would in a lapbook. You might like to use a piece of cardstock instead of regular paper, but it's not really necessary.

Here are some bird mini-books that you might like:

**Bird mini-books #2 (Blue Jay, Bobwhite, Brown Thrasher)**

Card Pockets for lapbooking,notebooking, etc.

We're delving into history around here, and I want a way to keep up with events of history that don't include a bulky or boring timeline. I thought I'd design some card pockets that can be used in a lapbook or notebook, with one era per book. So we're starting with the dawn of civilization, we'll have a lapbook titled "Dawn of Civiliation" or perhaps "4th Century B.C." - I haven't totally decided yet.

Inside, I'll put these pockets, and we can write down the appropriate people, places and things then file them in their pockets. This way, we'll have all of one era contained in one space, and divided by topic.

Directions: This file contains 2 blank pockets and 8 pre-printed ones, sized for standard 3x5 inde cards. Print only the pages you want. I recommend printing on card stock so that the pockets will be stiff. These pockets are designed to expand - print and cut out along the outer black lines, then fold on the black lines touching the inner rectangle, as well as the dashed lines. You want the tabs to form a "V" underneath the pocket, with the point of the "V" resting under the pocket, pointing toward the middle. Glue or tape only the outer edge of each tab.

Mini-book foldable for lapbooks and notebooks

Even though this site is "Notebook" Learning, I do know that some people like to put various mini-books in their notebooks. Or that they like to do lapbooks as well as notebooks. So here is an easy printable that can be included in your student's work. It starts out as a large square and can be folded down into either a diamond or a small rectangle, depending on your preference.

Free Presidential Elections Lap Book Folder

(Please note: I *LOVE* for people to share this file! But if you do, please send people directly to this post, not to the download page. Thank you.)

This is my first attempt at creating a lapbook file. Since it's not as polished as one put out by the various professionals who have been creating lapbooks for a long time, I'm offering it for free here. Enjoy!

Please note the copyright - do not re-distribute this file by any means. If you want to share it with others, please point them here. Thank you!
