Notebooking Page" "Aloof" by Christina Rossetti

What a sad poem - but it might be perfect for your favorite angst-y teen. :-)

Notebooking Page: Blank page for poetry or other things

If you'll be working with poetry, perhaps you might like this page. It features a box down the left side with lines, and a separate set of lines down the right side. In the box, just write out a favorite poem, or your own composition, then your essay, notes, etc. on the right side of the page. This page would have other uses as well, as it is not titled and therefore not restricted to just poetry.

(I'll be making other variations of this page in the coming days, just keep your eyes peeled.)

Notebooking Page: "Pippa's Song" by Robert Browning

A sweet, short poem for Spring. I've heard the last two lines of this poem often, but never knew the whole thing. I really like this one.

Notebooking Page: "From A Railway Carriage" by Stevenson

Clickity-clack, clickity-clack, can't you just hear the train wheels coming down the track when you read this poem?

Notebooking Page: "Tiger, Tiger, Burning Bright"

Grrr, can't you just see and hear this magnificent fellow when you read this poem?

Notebooking Page: "Ozymandias" by Shelley

"Ozymandias" by Percy Bysshe Shelley would be not only a great poetry study (wonderful imagery) but also would tie in well with an Egyptian history lesson:

Notebooking Page: "Never Give All the Heart" by Yeats

Personally, I think this one is rather on the sad side - but where would poetry be without the occasional bit of gloom? ;-)

Notebooking Page: "The Land of Counterpane" by Robert Louis Stevenson

Full of imagination, Robert Louis Stevenson's "The Land of Counterpane" has long been a favorite among parents and poets alike:

Notebooking Page: "A Better Resurrection" by Christina Rossetti

What a lovely poem! I'd never read this particular one before, but went looking for Christina Rossetti's works on Jimmie's suggestion. This one jumped out at me. I hope you enjoy it as well.

Notebooking Page: "Hope Is the Thing With Feathers" by Emily Dickinson

This is one of my son's favorite poems, and also so appropriate for the Spring season. I hope you enjoy it:

Notebooking Page: "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" by Wordsworth

Did you know that next month is National Poetry Month? I didn't! Fortuitous timing that I decided to work on a series of poetry pages, isn't it? To go with all the poetry goodness, why don't you check out Jimmie's "Poetry In Homeschool" Squidoo lens - lots of good ideas there!

Today's page is "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" by William Wordsworth. Great poem for this time of year, and a favorite of many. His words are so evocative, you feel like you're right there in that field of daffodils!

(P.S. Don't forget that today is the last day to try and win the free notebooking set!)
